Why is my 1999 grand prix gtp getting 16 mpg? What can i do to get more mpg?
I changed the oil, air filter, fuel filter, oil filter, pcv valve, spark plug wires, spark plugs, the oxygen sensor is fine. I checked the tires air pressure. Am i missing something?
the way you drive take it easy on the gas and on the accelerator just a bit and brake earlier , is there is a drag on the car(the windows(is the hood or doors sticking out)), is the engine belt in good shape, is the alt. working harder such as the radio, is the engine working harder the A/C. (if you want you can put an exhaust that will reduce back pressure and gives you more mpg), are the tires in good condition, you want as much surface area-slicks, is the engine shifting right, is the transmission getting as much power to the wheels, manual are better for gas mileage- and a limited slip differential.
