Packing Insulation
Insulation question for fiberglass insulation.?
Will R-19 fiberglass insulation batts (5.5" thick) retain it's R value if packed into a 2x4 wall cavity? A R-13 fiberglass insulation batt (3.5" thick) is the usual for a 2x4 wall cavity. Any insights are greatly appreciated!
Compressing this insulation will reduce the r value because you reduce the number of air pockets etc in the insulation
