The Fat Flush Diet: Out Goes the Fats and Toxins

The Fat Flush Diet is based from the book, “Fat Flush Plan” penned by acclaimed nutritionist and consultant, Anne Louise Gittleman. The objective of the diet is:

to boost the body’s metabolic rate
to diminish water retention
to accelerate the elimination of fats

Gittleman said that the liver is a “fat-burning machine” and therefore people should maintain the healthy condition of the liver so that it can function efficiently and aid the body in reducing weight. The Fat Flush Diet consists of three phases that aims the body to obtain protein (two eggs together with eight ounces of protein are required and one can exceed the amount) and important fats (like from flaxseed oil) and for the person to consume the following foods and drinks and do the following activities:

vegetables rich in antioxidant properties (asparagus, broccoli, cucumber, spinach)
fruits (oranges, lemons)
herbs and spices that are known to burn calories (cinnamon, apple cider vinegar, ginger)
diuretic drinks (meaning those that will tend you to lose water like certain herb-based tea)
work out and exercise and sleeping

Phase 1 (Flushing the Fats in Two Weeks Time)

Here, the person will be on an 1100-1200 calorie diet plan where he/she cannot eat certain foods like bread, dairy products and grains. The person can also expect to lose 5 to 12 pounds since in this phase where water retention will be cut down.

Phase 2 (Continue with the Plan)

Here, there will be an increase (1200-1500 calories) on the calorie intake. The person just goes on with the diet until he/she attain the weight he/she wants.

Phase 3 (Maintaining What Has Been Started)

The calorie intake is now 1500 higher. This is where the person sticks to this diet for as long as he/she wants. Some dairy products and starchy vegetables are included now in the meal plan.
