Race Kart
What do i need to race my go kart?
I just bought a 2008 ultramax element. i know the class i would fall in is stock medium. I want to race at a dirt track(non wka race) do i need any lisence. and next what gear would you run on a dirt 1/5 mile track with a briggs raptor motor. and last can any one post a link to a helmet that is allowed to be used in a go kart race. thanks
You may have to pay an entry fee at the track you want to race at but you don't need a licence. As far as gear goes most guys wear a single layer driving suit, gloves, good shoes ( not to thick ) a neck protector, and any good quality full face helmet as long as it's not to old. I like Bell helmets but there are a lot of brands that are acceptable for racing. I guess racing on dirt you might want to look at chest protectors in case you get hit with a dirt clod and a back brace to keep you from getting a sore back after a long night of racing.
